Rosie's Trust / Caring for people by caring for their pets
Rosie's Trust is the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to helping cancer patients, people receiving end of life care and older people with mobility issues to keep their companion pets by their side.
They are currently recruiting volunteers for the following roles:
- Pet Support Volunteer - These volunteers provide practical, hands-on support that ensures no one who is over the age of 65 with mobility issues, going through active cancer treatment or who has an end-of-life diagnosis has to face rehoming their companion pet during a difficult period in their lives
- Foster Carer - The foster service allows the most vulerable beneficiaries to feel a level of security when it comes to their companion pets, by supporting with short-term foster care in the event that they are admitted into hospital or need to undergo treatment.
- Event Volunteer - Event Volunteers help raise the profile of Rosie's Trust by spreading the word in their local communities and at events. This is a flexible, rewarding role for confident communicators who enjoy engaging with the public and sharing the importance of the bond between beneficiaries and their companion pets.
- Transport Volunteer - Transport Volunteers support staff and volunteer teams by making sure pets get where they need to go - whether it's to vet appointments, foster homes, or other essential journeys. It's a behind the scenes role with a big impact!
All required training will be provided. All roles are perfect for compassionate animal lovers who want to make a difference in the lives of both people and their pets.
