What is the info session?
The info session is an important part of our recruitment process as it allows us to give you more insight into the roles we offer and what you can expect as a volunteer with us. It is key that you are fully equipped with all the information you need to decide whether you really want to take up a volunteering role with us. Some prospective volunteers find that when they hear more about the role, it’s not what they expected while others find out that it’s just what they were looking for.

Why do I have to attend?
We want all our applicants to be in a position to decide whether this is the volunteer role for them. We will only take committed applicants through to the interview stage.

What happens after the info session?
In the week after the info session I will contact you once you have had time to reflect on what you’ve heard, to check if you still want to go ahead with the volunteer role. If we are in agreement that you want to progress, you will be invited to a formal interview.

Will I be assessed at the info session?
The purpose of the session is for you to better understand what volunteering with us means and what commitment we need from you. There is no type of assessment. However, sometimes we do de-select candidates at this point if it becomes clear through conversation that you are not going to be able to offer the commitment the volunteer role requires.

What if I can’t make this date?
Each area only offers 1 information session per recruitment, so if you are unable to attend this date I can let you know the dates for sessions in other areas and you can attend one of those. We always recommend you try to attend this session though, as you will get to meet the staff you will be working with if you are successful.

Do I need to bring anything with me?
You do not need to bring anything but if you want to take notes, bring pen and paper with you.

Can I progress without attending an info session?
As mentioned before, this is an important step and so you cannot progress to interview without first attending an info session. If you are unable to make any of the local sessions I can arrange for you to meet one to one with your local office Co-ordinator before the interview.

I have questions, who can I speak to?
If your question is not covered here please just reply to this email and I’ll be happy to provide more information. Or you can call me on the number below. If you call and I am not available just leave a message and I will call you back as soon as possible.
