
Make a Difference This Summer!
Volunteer recruitment is now open for this years Foyle Parents & Friends Summer Scheme. If you're 16+ and interested in gaining experience in the area of health and social care then this is a great opportunity for you. You will work as part of a dynamic team to enhance the lives of children and young adults with a learning disability, supporting staff in creating a safe and fun environment. During a 3 week period commencing mid July '26 (dates to be confirmed) you will:
- Activity Support: Assist in the preparation, delivery, and clearing away of various activities such as sports, arts and crafts, music, or group games.
- Participant Engagement: Welcome children, encouraging participation in sessions and acting as a positive role model.
- Team Collaboration: Attend regular briefings and work alongside staff and other volunteers to ensure the programme runs effectively.
Skills and Qualities
- Enthusiasm: A positive, "can-do" attitude and a genuine interest in working with children and young adults.
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with children, young adults and fellow team members.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to change and support different types of activities.
- Reliability: Commitment to attending agreed shifts and being punctual.
